Hey babes! Every year Cody and I take family photos and this year we have Weston with us so it makes it so much more special. I have been waiting for this day for what seems like forever. I always put Pepper on our Christmas card, but this year I decided to take her with us to be in the photos. After all, she was our first baby. But with that being said, I’m sharing with you my favorite tips on how to get through family photos and linking all of our outfit details.
Find your photographer! Luckily enough, Las Vegas has some amazing photographers and I love the earthy tones, so it was easy for me to choose.
- And All Things Loved took ours this year and killed! It’s also a plus that she’s one of my very good friends so its easy to be ourselves around her and she watches Weston while I get myself together (stroller, diaper bag, shoes on and off) you get it!
- The Light and The Love took our maternity photos the year before and they were to die for. She’s such a sweet person and had edits back to me that night. Not going to lie, I cried when I got them back.
Pick a color scheme and stick with it. If someone is wearing a pattern, put everyone else in similar colors. I’ve noticed that this is one of the easiest way to pick out outfits for the family. I also try and find clothes that we already have, but if its necessary, I’ll go a buy new ones for the family. I bought my dress this year for only $20.
Bring snacks and plan to do breakfast or lunch after. We love eating out, so its always a plus to go after a session. We’re usually ready to eat by the end anyways, so it works out perfect. However, we had Pepper with us, so we ended up going through a drive through after. It was perfect. Nothing beats easy. If you have toddlers, give them something to look forward to once family photos are done. A slurpee from 7/11, ice cream, you get my drift.
